Ever since my son was a baby, I have told him crazy stories about two brothers. I recently turned some of the adventures of Tom and Pip into the first in a trilogy. Through light hearted and quirky adventures, the two brothers learn to trust in each other to solve problems, thwart enemies and return home.
In a chance encounter, Tom and Pip are whisked off of planet Earth by two alien boys. Despite Earthlings being considered primitive and weird, they discover acceptance, adventure, and new responsibility on the Boopling Homeworld. Yet all is not well! On a journey back to Earth in their spaceship, Tom and Pip are set upon by Insectoid pirates. In trying to escape, the boys are sucked through a uni-directional wormhole to an unknown part of the galaxy. Tom and Pip must trust each other and risk everything in order to get home.
Tom and Pip enter their newly designed space ship into the Interstellar Space Race. Mysteriously, the nemesis they encountered through the uni-directional wormhole in Book One has entered the races as well. Why would The Perfection Continuum, the mortal enemies of the Booplings, enter the races when they consider entertainment to be imperfect? Is this a prelude to another war with the Booplings or something even more sinister?
Tom and Pip’s strange experiences on the other side of the wormhole in Book One and the actions of the Perfection Continuum in Book Two, lead them to the conclusion that, not only the Booplings, but the whole galaxy is in peril. They must uncover the mystery of whom or what is at the heart of the Perfection Continuum.
I've done loads of back-end work which is difficult to profile since much is behind a login, but here's some of my work.

I produce quality for value in a timely manner. I don't like projects to linger so I can sometimes press clients to provide what is needed to get the job done. I'm friendly, focused and service minded.

Jim has fantastic communication skills and helps those who he works with to understand "how things tick" when it comes to helping them understand code writing services that he provides. His recommendations and implementation of the PHP/MySQL optimizations to our companies database have been instrumental in helping to streamline our companies database workflow.
Jim likes to think out of the box and is creative at generating revenue income streams. He likes to keep interfaces simple so they get used yet take the usefulness of his product to the next level to give him the competitive edge.
James adapted very quickly and excelled in an extremely fast paced setting with very tight deadlines. He took charge of his Local Census Office, building it from the ground up, all the while keeping his staff and colleagues educated and informed of the latest changes and revisions as well as contributing methodically with well timed updates. Census 2011 in BC owes a large part of it's success to the work that he put in.
I would also like to say that though he was in a highly technical I.T. role he was exceedingly good in his people skills, being able to make both highly technical people as well as those that were new to computers and computing, well at ease. This was an unexpected plus that served everyone well in the high stress environment that was Statistics Canada Census 2011.
I would highly recommend him in future projects.
"James works well on his own, planning his work and setting appropriate priorities. The work load fluctuated extensively and he had several critical deadlines, particularly when major hiring dates were approaching. He is very flexible, a good multi-tasker who is willing to take on an extra workload when required. He worked well in the team environment and was well liked by his co-workers." - M.J. Terris - Manager, Kelowna
"James was tasked with informatics set-up, maintenance and supporthroughout the year-long project, with over 60 persons in our local office plus 10 in our two remote offices and almost 1000 in the field operation. His technical skills matched well with this challenge and he brought a strong component of business maturity to our Administrative team. He was an excellent trainer of all LCO staff on IT security and data protection and interacted in a most professional manner with other IT employees in the region" - Janet Billington - Assistant Manager
"James was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, personable and always available to provide assistance and resolve issues in any "computer crisis". My responsibilities required access to numerous government computer programs and without James' professional assistance, my duties would have been insurmountable at many times." - Loraine MacKenzie: Payroll Team Lead
